Last May I took a Political Psychology with Dr. Gentry as part of my general education requirements. The quick nature of a May term course pushed me to improve my time management skills. Furthermore, Dr. Gentry’s standard is quite high and I understood that I had to rise to meet that standard. In doing so I learned how important attention to detail is in your work. Whether it’s academically or professionally,  the small details can take what would have otherwise been okay work, and elevate it to outstanding work.

The most influential concept I learned from Dr. Gentry’s class, however, was how to draw connections between two seemingly unrelated ideas. This is what the field of political psychology is. It’s a combination of studies that were previously thought to be unrelated. In my reflective essay, I delve more into how I learned and utilized this skill to form the artifact for this section. The paper I wrote for this class would not have been possible prior to me taking Political Psychology. I could see a skill like this having a profound impact on my future career.
