By attending the professional development activities offered to me on campus, I learned how to construct a résumé and cover letter that properly communicates my skills and experiences. Additionally, the Career Services on campus provided a lot of support. I had never written a cover letter prior to this, so it took some time to create. Attached is a company specific cover letter, that I wrote recently, as well as my general Computer Science résumé. Through Career Services, I learned that cover letters are most effective when tailored to a specific job. I intend to submit this cover letter as part of my application in the following days.
The résumé I have displayed below is the most up to date one I have. It is a more generalized one as my coding projects will be less applicable to the information technology role I intend to apply for soon. Therefore, it is better to show off some of my work experience and relevant coursework first. I’ve learned from Career Services that being adaptable is one of the most important things in a job search. Adjusting my cover letter and résumé will be important in giving me the best chance to impress potential employers.
